A successful retailer for over 26 years, M. Fredric is one of Southern California’s finest contemporary apparel boutiques. Owned and operated by Fred Levine, Lisa Levine and Mardi Fox (husband, wife and sister), the 23 boutiques avoid the cookie-cutter sameness of most apparel chains and contain a magnificent collection of products for women, men and children. Frequented by celebrities, wardrobe stylists and sophisticated shoppers, M. Fredric is constantly evolving to offer staff and clients an ever-changing dynamic environment to make shopping an exciting experience seven days a week.

Much of the success is attributed to quality customer service, which has been a trademark since 1980. With the level of service at the forefront, the M. Fredric brand evolved from a carrier of Moderate Junior Apparel in the 80s to Better Junior Apparel in the 90s and Better Contemporary Apparel since 2003. Also, the sophistication factor has increased due to the product mix and placement in eight geographically diverse lifestyle centers in and around the Los Angeles area.

Prideful in offering consumers a unique shopping experience, the first M. Fredric MAN opened in June 2005. This high-end cutting edge boutique for the trendy male successfully filled a void and has enhanced the M. Fredric family of stores. Since then, six additional MAN stores have opened.

Although the boutiques operate separately, they are often clustered by adjoining doors. These free-flowing stores possess a sense of synergy which renders a department store feel, but with unparalleled service. In addition, the décor and merchandise are altered frequently to make sure the company is always on the pulse of what’s hot and not. M. Fredric carries a number of apparel lines such as Joe’s Jeans, Splendid, True Religion, 1921, Hard Tail, Ed Hardy, Monarchy, People’s Liberation, Ella Moss, Affliction, Antik Denim, Seven for All Mankind, Eccentric Symphony, Uknighted and other celebrity-created lines. The Kids stores feature Flowers by Zoe, Petunia Picklebottom, Rock and Republic, Les Tout Petites, Splendid, Diesel and the children’s versions of many adult lines.

The vision of M. Fredric is to excel in every endeavor it undertakes. While profitability is important to the company, so is the well-being of the community in which it thrives. In 2000, the company joined American Cancer Society (ACS) in the fight against Breast Cancer. In doing so, the owners embarked on a crusade to raise money for this worthy cause by collecting donations from patrons and vendors. A portion of each dollar collected is matched by M. Fredric, which has donated over $250,000 to ACS to date. This year, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times was designated as the charity for the Kids stores and the company is looking forward to making sizeable contributions to improve the lives of children living with Cancer.
